Thank you Marc - as you know Greg MacGillivray is one of our heroes. The 'Father of IMAX' has done more than nearly anyone to bring the wonder and grace of OUR World to millions via the massive screen. His work behind the scenes are equally laudable.

Hi Dane - I LOVE your cousin the "Plastic Bag Monster" and I just watched your brother Jay's cartoon and would LOVE to purchase a copy because if I'm not on a beach anywhere from San Diego to Malibu doing a cleanup, I'm in a classroom educating kids about what they can do to help!

Hi MIchael: I myself have conducted beach cleanups in Dana Point where we picked up a ton of single use grocery bags...so I'm in full support! Long Beach just banned the bag on 8/1/11 and Seal Beach is not too far behind ~

Thanks for all you do in Dana Point, Michael... I'm fully in. There is just no other way to effectively uphold our responsibility as a coastal community than to pass a formal ban on these toxic bags.

There are a lot of people out there who are philosophically opposed to "government intervention" in business -- but this is not a philosophical problem and it requires an EFFECTIVE, practical solution. Only a ban is effective. Studies have shown that massive, and expensive, public outreach and educational campaigns are helpful but still only about 6% of plastic bags are recycled. On the other hand a formal ban is 90-100% effective within a year. That's efficient, effective, responsible governance. Ban The Bag!
